Sudrak Khongpuang – Walking in fields, 2016
The gallery’s Spring/Summer exhibition features the theme of Mother and so, not surprisingly, this show will be focusing the subject of nature as depicted by 8 renowned Thai artists, including Nukoon Panyadee, Watcharin Rodnit, Jason Tamthai, Sudrak Khongpuang, Arisara Caroline Faulder, Parida Tanti, Pemapsorn Kritsadacharoenpong, and Sarawut Thaichuai.
Sudrak Khongpuang – For a while, 2016
Each artist will bring his or her own style and interpretation of what nature means to them. For example, Jason Tamthai, a Chiang Mai resident, depicts stormy seas in his paintings-filled with thick brushstrokes mixed with vivid, rich, dark, exotic colours. By contrast, Sudrak Khongpuang creates clam naive surrealist art, using bright colours and reflecting a happy outlook on nature. Looking at her jolly scenery of rice fields and mountains twist the Thai’s tradition of the typical countryside. (Cr.BAM printing media)
